I've spent much of my life in high-performance environments, chasing things i thought would make me happy. Professional football, a successful creative career, recognition, achievement, always a next goal.

And while these experiences brought valuable lessons in resilience, creativity, leadership, and discipline, they also taught me that reaching the goal and feeling fulfilled are not always the same thing. I was often trying to become more of who i thought i should be, instead of paying attention to who i actually was.

Looking back, the biggest changes in my life happened when life shook things up and forced me to look at things differently. Losing my best friend and becoming a parent made it difficult to keep seeing things the same way. They forced me to question what really mattered, where my ideas of success had come from, and whether the life i was building was actually my own.

Seeing things differently eventually led to different choices. I left football for New York, walked away from a career that looked successful from the outside, and eventually found my way to coaching. So those questions became the work.

Today, i work with individuals, leaders, and organizations navigating moments of transition, growth, uncertainty, and change. My role isn't to tell people what to do, but to collaborate, explore, and uncover what might be getting in the way of doing things differently.

1986

I was born in Amsterdam to a Dutch mother and Moluccan father. Growing up between cultures often meant moving between different perspectives, expectations, and ways of seeing the world. Without realizing it at the time, it taught me to stay curious, adapt, and look beyond a single version of the truth.

At 16, i joined the youth academy of professional football club Heerenveen. I was never the biggest talent on the pitch, yet i was always made captain by my coaches. At the time i didn't fully understand why. Looking back, it had less to do with football and more to do with bringing people together, creating trust, and helping a team move in the same direction.

2009

After achieving what i thought was my lifelong dream of becoming a professional football player, i began to realize how much of that dream had been shaped by the world around me. Deep down, i knew i wanted something different. So i made a decision that didn't make much sense on paper, but felt right: i left football behind and moved to New York City.

Back in Amsterdam, i spent almost a decade working as a creative director, collaborating with talented teams and global brands like Spotify and Netflix. But what mattered most to me was the people behind the work. Creating an environment where people felt trusted, safe to explore, take risks, and do their best work.

2019

Becoming a parent made me question everything. The birth of my daughter held up a mirror and forced me to take a closer look at my values, my beliefs, and how i wanted to live. For the first time, i started thinking about the kind of ancestor i wanted to be. And whether that idea matched the way i was living. It didn't. So i started looking for a different way, which eventually led me to coaching.

the present

Now i work with individuals, leaders, teams, and organizations. It's always a collaboration that revolves around perspective. Understanding the stories, expectations, and systems we're part of, and exploring what opens up when we start seeing them differently. Curious to see where i'll be in 5 years.
